I'm sure I read somewhere that ALL of Thome's homers are meaningless.

That's from the old cleveland.com forums. Every time -- and I mean EVERY time thome nailed one -- some idiot posted "another meaningless home run for Thome".
This guy was serious though -- he thought Jim should be hitting singles at a .325 clip instead of power at a .300 clip with a ton of walks. This guy thinks Rod Carew was the greatest hitter in the history of the game and guys like Ruth were bushers.

Make that 24 hrs in 60 games...
Much easier numbers to work with...
thats 64.8 homers over a full year...
However, Thome's intermittent back should be considered.
